The
senior instructor and regional leader for the New Orleans
Metro Area TaeKwonDo Plus network is Grand Master Art
Monroe.
Grand Master Art Monroe has studied martial arts for over 32 years
and has been professionally teaching for over 30 years. His
first teaching experience began in Lansing, Michigan, in
1974, where he owned three different schools in the Lansing
area. After moving to New Orleans in 1977, he has
developed, professionally managed, and now oversees 10
TaeKwonDo Plus schools. He has taught thousands of
students, including military, private security, and the
state police.
He is one of the founders of the International TaeKwonDo
Alliance and now serves on its Board of
Directors. The ITA has 185 licensed schools throughout
the United States and the United Kingdom, all following
authentic standards of certification.
Grand
Master Monroe is an 8th Degree Black Belt and holds a brown
belt in Weeping Style Ju-jitsu. He is certified in CDT
(non-deadly force training), Criminal Countermeasures, Han
Mu Do, Korean Sword Masters, and as an ADHD Seminar
graduate. He has formally trained with Grand Master
Haeng Ung Lee, G.M. Soon Ho Lee, G.M. Jee Ho Lee, G.M. Yun
Sun Kang, G.M. Robert Altmeyer, G.M. Dale Craig, G.M. Craig
Kollars, and G.M. Bert Kollars, along with all of the Grand
Masters, Senior
Masters, and Masters of the ITA.
